About Centre of Excellence for Energy Research (CEER)
The Centre of Excellence for Energy Research (CEER), a leading research hub focusing on sustainable energy technologies, was established under the MHRD, Government of India's Frontier Areas of Science and Technology (FAST) scheme. The centre was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, on December 9, 2014, in the august presence of Col. Dr. JEPPIAAR, Founder Chancellor, Chancellor, and President of the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology. The centre emphasises breakthrough research and innovation in crucial areas of energy conversion and storage technologies to address the global need for green and renewable energy. With state-of-the-art infrastructure and expert faculty, the centre bridges the gap between academic and industrial innovation, leading to product development. The centre is aiming towards advanced energy research to create efficient, affordable, and sustainable power solutions for generations to come.

To advance frontier research in energy technologies through interdisciplinary innovation in solar photovoltaics, fuel cells, supercapacitors, Batteries, electrocatalysis, thermoelectric devices, and bioenergy.
To implement strategic collaborations with academia, industry, and government bodies to pioneer impactful and lasting energy solutions for a greener Earth.
To promote knowledge dissemination through capacity-building programs that support the empowerment of global energy security as well as societal progress.
